SLC to donate 22.5 Millon for Commonwealth athletes

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has decided to donate rupees 22.5 million to support the Commonwealth Games athletes. SLC President Shammi Silva already informed their agreement with Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe at a function held at the Sports Ministry on Wednesday.

Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe met the SLC officials after he assumed duties and discussed the progress of Sri Lanka Cricket.

Due to the present economic crisis in the country, the donation by SLC is crucial at this stage said the Sports Minister while SLC also wishes to give their hand to the Sri Lankan athletes at this stage. Sports Minister also received the SLC annual report on this occasion. The Sports Ministry Secretary Anuradha Wijekoon was also present. (D.R.)
