In a bid to include the Life Insurance Agents to the Employment Provident Fund, an amendment to the No 15 of the 1958 Employees Provident Fund of the Department of Labour was introduced.
Therefore, a special Cabinet Draft Amendment to the Act with regard to the insurance agents’ demand was released before presenting it into the Parliament recently. In order to expedite its legal provisions and to discuss future steps, the draft Cabinet paper to the amendment was presented to Minister of Labour and Foreign Employment Manusha Nanayakkara by President of the -All Ceylon Life Insurance Agents Chandra Bandara following an agreement with the trade union attachment to the All Ceylon Life Insurance Agents Association .
The event took place at the Ministry of Labour office. At the event, Minister Nanayakkara’s Private Secretary Shan Yahampath, National Organizer All Ceylon Life Insurance Agents Association Janaka Sampath and other representatives of the association participated.
