Management Principles and Supply Chain Management (Sinhala version ) book authored by Management Consultant Jayantha Wijesinghe was launched recently at the Organization of Professional Associations auditorium under the patronage of Professor H.D.Karunaratne,Vice Chancellor University of Colombo as Chief Guest and other distinguished gathering.

Wijesing said the Management Principles and Supply Chain Management book would fill the vacuum particularly among the Sinhala readers on supply chain management and would be useful to all from students to entrepreneurs and anyone who wished to update their knowledge in the subject.

Professor H.D.Karunaratne Vice Chancellor University of Colombo addressing the gathering said , in his fourth book “Management Principles and Supply Chain Management” Jayantha has made a wonderful effort to impart his experience and theoretical knowledge to us in eleven well-planned chapters on management and inventory and supply management. This work differs from a traditional subject work by sharing the knowledge he has gained through his experiences. I also learned a lot from reading this book. This book will definitely be a valuable resource for all those interested in inventory and materials management.

Professor Nalin Abeysekara, Dean Faculty of Management Studies OUSL addressing the launch said, “This book by Jayantha Wijesinghe targets one specific segment which is a much-needed contribution to Sri Lankan society. As we know there are many books written on this subject of Supply chain only targeting the English-speaking segment which is sometimes referred to as the “elite segment within society.” Anyway, we should focus on buildup entrepreneurs in this country. In this scenario, we should talk to the hearts, minds, and souls of people and entrepreneurs who use their native language (in the Sri Lankan context Sinhala or Tamil). Hence this book has served that purpose by utilizing the story-telling method as well. Writing a book in Sinhala is really challenging and as an author of books published in Sinhala and English I really like the way Jayantha is communicating to the general audience in their “own language “.This is a rare talent for any author which is a must for “textbook writing .” I think with his expertise in writing short stories and novels he has gained this remarkable outcome. More importantly, we all should repay what we already received from the free education of Dr. C W W Kannangara. All of us should socialize knowledge which can be done via books, social media, and mass communication. So I think Jayantha has fulfilled that duty as well. This is a good “success story” that we need to share within Sri Lankan society.”
