Holy Family Convent, Kurunegala Netball teams excelled during the last year as they bagged several championships from the age group under 13, 15, 17 and under 19 categories. The teams were coached by Amalka Gunatilleka while former National Volleyball skipper Ananda Wannitilleka gave fine service as a trainer for all age group teams.
The championships (under 13, 15, 17 and runners up of under 20) from Sri Lanka Schools Netball tournament conducted by the Education Department at Kurunegala, the under 13, 15, 17,and under 19 championships and overall championships of Milo Schools All Island Netball tournament at Wennappuwa, the Under 16 championships of super 16 tournament conducted by Milo at Kaduwela and Junior National Netball championships held at Polonnaruwa and Western Province Eva Netball Teams schools championships are the main tournaments won by the HFC Netball teams last year. The College Old Girls Association and Parents organized a felicitation ceremony for the HFC Netball teams recently while they organized a walk from College Premises towards the town area to in honour of the teams.
The Principal Rev Sister Priyangani Perera, Deputy Principal Rev. Sister Timali Lowe, the coach Amalka Gunatilleka, Trainer Ananda Wannitilleka were present with Netball teams, OGA officials and parents at the felicitation walk.
